The History of Apples and Pears
Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery first opened it’s doors in July 2004, where the setting comprised of two buildings, our main building, a converted farm building and a green portable building.
Catering for our children aged 0-5 years, our youngest children occupied the ground floor and older children on the first floor, with secure, safe immediate outdoor rubberised play area.
Our out of school club children occupied a purposefully designed portable building, with secure free-flow opportunities to the outdoor areas, including grass playing field and sensory garden.
Later, an additional portable building was added, to extend our pre-school provision, and Peaches Pre-School was opened.
New Nursery Building
Starting in 2019, Apples & Pears set out to convert an existing cattle cubicle shed into a replacement nursery building.
The new nursery building benefits from lovely views over the farmland and the design incorporates open plan flexibility and improved free flow between the outdoor play space and the nursery rooms, with increased capacity for 115 children.
