Our building is a converted 27 cow shippon where the cows were milked twice a day.
Apples and Pears Private Day Nursery is located in the beautiful south Cheshire countryside near to Sandbach and convenient for the M6 It is situated in a former farm building called a shippon which is where cows were milked.
The building, beautifully converted is set alongside a working dairy and arable farm (wheat, barley etc). The views from the nursery windows are of worked farmland, tractors and other farm machinery at work, cows grazing, birds and a host of other wild life from the tiniest mini-beast.
We have a wide tarmac driveway which opens up onto an ample car park where you can drop off or pick up your little people in safety - there is no need to park on the lane outside. The drive and car park are not shared with the farm.
Converted to the latest standards and opened in July 2004 the nursery is a totally self-contained two-storey building. It is operated on both floors of the building with the youngest ones on the ground floor and the older children on the first floor. Toilet facilities appropriate to the age groups are adjacent to the their rooms.
The stairs are protected with stair gates top and bottom and aid in safe stair training for the older children.
The nursery offers a secure, safe, self-contained rubberised outdoor play area and grass play field. It also has access to extensive fields and footpaths owned by the proprietors of the nursery. With your agreement, children have regular visits to see and care for the nursery pets and menagerie of other animals. We also have a sensory garden.
The rooms are bright and airy with plenty of space for varied activities, Children are split into four age groups. Read about our age group based rooms in the Facilities and Programmes page
